Securities and Investments Certificate
Known as the ‘Level three professional qualification on Securities and Investments’, this is a foundation qualification for entry into the City. It is run by the Securities and Investment Institute (SII), the investment industry’s professional qualifications body.
From regulations to shares, bonds and derivatives pupils gain an overview of the world of finance. It is taken as an additional subject in the Upper Sixth at Millfield, and is especially useful for pupils who want a career in the City or differentiate themselves from other pupils.
The course doesn’t provide UCAS points, but demonstrates interest in the subject at an early stage. It is only taught by a handful of independent schools and some further education colleges.
