Southfield is a house of 54 girls on Millfield’s main campus. The house opened in September 2002, and its enviable position in the corner spot of Chindit Avenue means that it boasts the largest garden and even its own pond.
Tracey Allen has been Housemistress of Southfield since September 2014. Tracey became a teacher in 1986 and joined Millfield to teach Mathematics in 2008. Before joining Millfield she was a Head of Maths and, prior to her appointment as Housemistress at Millfield she was Head of Year 11. Tracey’s husband, Richard, works in the telecoms industry. Tracey and Richard have four children, two are Old Millfieldians and two currently attend Millfield. Southfield prides itself on its happy and pleasant environment. Tracey sees the house as first and foremost the girls’ second home and her priority is to make sure the girls feel safe, secure, and ‘at home’. The Southfield culture encourages empathy and hard work, and is well-known for its tremendous house spirit.
Tracey has a keen interest in all things educational, and has recently been awarded a Masters degree in Education.
